Teaching 3rd graders, serving in the Peace Corps in Ecuador, bringing history to life aboard the Star of India, volunteering with Canine Companions for Independence, and 19 years with the City of Poway demonstrate Belinda’s commitment to serving others. As a Certified Public Manager, she places priority on leadership and inspiring others to achieve their goals. She utilizes her abilities and undergraduate degrees in education, environment, and science as a basis for providing experiences for individuals and families in communities. In her highly prized free time, she has traveled extensively to learn more about other cultures. Highlights include Vietnam and Cambodia, Turkey and Greece, Central America, and a 30-day train trip across the United States.
Board service gives Belinda the opportunity to be a part of creating unique experiences for the community in a fiscally responsible manner. She has served as an Ex Officio and City liaison to the Board for a number of years and has enjoyed being involved in the Finance Committee. She is most impressed with the success of the annual Taste of Our Towne fundraiser.
