Hans Chamberlain

Hans has been a dedicated advocate for arts education since his graduation in 2003, currently serving as the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Specialist for the Poway Unified School District. Following a distinguished 19-year career as a K-8 music teacher and a transition into administration, Hans champions the belief that arts education develops vital transferable life skills and provides a necessary creative outlet for all students.
A professional keyboardist fluent in jazz, blues, rock, country, and R&B, Hans holds an undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of Redlands and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from National University.
The arts are a family affair for the Chamberlains; Hans’s wife is a musical theatre teacher and choreographer, and both of his daughters are active performers. His oldest studies Education and sings in the Point Loma Singers choir at Point Loma Nazarene, while his youngest studies Economics at UCLA and has served as a gymnastics coach and dance captain for both show choir and her dance team.
Hans is honored to contribute his VAPA leadership and professional musical background to the Board of Directors, ensuring the visual and performing arts remain a cornerstone of the Poway community.
