Blizzard, presented by Québec City’s renowned Cirque FLIP Fabrique, is a contemporary circus production that delves into the multifaceted nature of winter. The show combines high-level acrobatics, live music, and striking visual design to portray a world blanketed in snow, where time seems to pause, offering a canvas for reflection and renewal.
The narrative follows a group of friends, each unique like individual snowflakes, as they navigate the challenges and wonders of a winter storm. Their journey is depicted through a series of dynamic performances, including aerial acts, juggling, and trampoline sequences, all set against a backdrop of original music performed live on stage.
Director Olivier Normand, along with the creative team, crafts an atmosphere that is both whimsical and profound. The production’s design elements—scenic, lighting, and costumes—work in harmony to immerse the audience in a world where the external cold mirrors internal contemplation.
