For more than 20 years, Poway OnStage has partnered with the world-renowned Missoula Children’s Theatre to present its annual Musical Youth Theater Camp.  Children K-12th grade will audition, rehearse and stage a full-scale musical performance in just six days!  This year, local young thespians will perform a clever staging of “Cinderella.” Auditions and participation are free and open to the public as they are supported by Poway OnStage’s donor supported Arts in Education Initiative.

REHEARSALS – March 2 – 6 (Monday to Friday)

PERFORMANCE – Saturday, March 7 at 3PM & 7PM

 THE STORY: 

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (The Enchanted Edition)—a magical, family-friendly musical based on the beloved 1997 teleplay starring Brandy and Whitney Houston. This enchanting adaptation brings fresh warmth and humor to Rodgers & Hammerstein’s timeless score, including favorites like “Ten Minutes Ago” and “In My Own Little Corner”. 

Follow the journey of Cinderella, who dreams of a life beyond her chores under the watchful eye of her cruel stepmother and stepsisters. With help from her Fairy Godmother, a pumpkin transforms into a glorious carriage, and with a single glass slipper, the Prince begins his kingdom-wide search for his true love. Staged by Missoula Children’s Theatre and adapted for the community stage, this sensory-friendly, G-rated production runs approximately two hours, including intermission, offering wheelchair accessibility and a welcoming atmosphere for all ages.
